Prikken bij macula-degeneratie
Bij natte macula-degeneratie groeien nieuwe bloedvaatjes in of onder je netvlies. Hierdoor ga je slechter zien. Je kunt dan prikken met medicijnen krijgen in je oog.
Krijg je deze prikken al lange tijd en zit er een vaste tijd tussen de prikken van bijvoorbeeld 12 of 16 weken? Dan kun je samen met je oogarts kijken of je doorgaat met de prikken in je oog. Of alleen doorgaat met controles.
Er zitten voordelen en nadelen aan het doorgaan met prikken in je oog. En er zitten voordelen en nadelen aan alleen controles bij de oogarts. Samen met de oogarts bespreek je die. Wet macular degeneration: treatment options
With wet macular degeneration, new blood vessels grow in or under your retina. This causes your vision to deteriorate. You can then receive injections with medication in your eye.
Have you been receiving these injections for a long time with a fixed interval between injections of, for example, 12 or 16 weeks? Then you can discuss with your ophthalmologist whether to continue with the injections in your eye, or only continue with check-ups.
There are advantages and disadvantages to continuing with injections in your eye. And there are advantages and disadvantages to only having check-ups with the ophthalmologist.
