Mazelen

Kinderen kunnen ziektes krijgen waarbij ze vlekjes op hun huid hebben. Mazelen is zo'n ziekte.

Kan je kind mazelen hebben?

Heeft je kind 2 prikken tegen mazelen gehad? Dan is de kans heel klein dat je kind mazelen krijgt.

Bel de huisarts als je denkt dat je kind mazelen heeft. Bij mazelen heeft je kind hoge koorts en vlekjes op het gezicht en lichaam.

Zegt de huisarts dat je kind mazelen heeft? Dit moet je doen:

• Laat je kind thuisblijven.

• Geef je kind extra drinken.

• Vertel aan de school of het kinderdagverblijf dat je kind mazelen heeft. Mazelen is heel besmettelijk.

Could your child have measles?

If your child has had 2 vaccinations against measles, then the chance of your child getting measles is very small.

Call the doctor if you think your child has measles. With measles, your child has a high fever and spots on the face and body.

Does the doctor say your child has measles? This is what you should do:

• Keep your child at home.

• Give your child extra fluids to drink.

• Tell the school or daycare center that your child has measles. Measles is highly contagious.
