Are you feeling lonely? Ask for help if you can't work it out on your own.
If you're lonely, you don't feel connected to other people. You miss having people with whom you share a strong bond. Or you have less contact with other people than you would like.
There can be many reasons why you feel lonely. Often there isn't just one cause, but several things at once. For example, you've just moved, or something else has changed in your life. Or you find it hard to connect with people.
Help with loneliness
Often there's already something you can do yourself to feel less lonely. Ask for help if you can't manage on your own.
You can get help in many places. For example, online, at a community center or library, from the local neighborhood team, or at work or school. Your GP, or the practice nurse at your GP's office, can also give you advice if you feel lonely.
On Thuisarts you can find more about what you can do if you feel lonely. You'll also find advice and help specifically for older people and young people.
